Inspired by the circulation of knowledge that formed the outset of the library, Bibliotheca Alexandrina, the design seeks a form that suits the readers’ need for facilitating the reading activity. It allows the readers to have a personal space for contemplation, a form of study favoured by the majority visitors in the library. The segregation boards can be installed or removed so that an open area can facilitate conversations among groups when needed. The design is modular so that pieces can be assembled to fit in different spaces.
